Hello, colleagues,
I have come across a curious early hirschfanger with a blade inscription I'm having a tough time transcribing. Your help would be most appreciated!

otherwise I would have escaped

Possible sense: Run away is no solution (?)

Here's the other side of the blade. Maybe it relates to the little rhyme.
The hilt, in my opinion, is more in the 17th c. style, perhaps the early 1700s.

I don't know it. I cannot understand the connections meant at that time.
