As it is easter I think an photo of an complete set up of amarments for an Danish cavalry man ca 1755 is appopriate.

The photo shows from top, Short rifeled military carabine Ca 1750, a pair of M.1751 pistols, pallasch M.1750/26 and pallasch 1740:

Hello Arne,
WOW - it is a very impressing collection, you are showing here, and in a superb condition too.

The carabine is unknown to me - it looks a little bit like a shortened riffle because of the heavy front of the stock, but please enlighten me.

Kind regards
Henry

Thank you Henry. The "Studser"(Danish) for an short rifeled carbine is the only one I know of it's kind.

It is an Dansih Norwegian Studser from Ca 1750. It can be dated on the shape of the stock and finishing of triggerguard as well as having the same features as contemporay muskets:

The photo below shows an infantry musket from Ca 1750. The Musket is in the military museum at Akershus in Oslo:

Here seen together with, from left an Norwegian M/1711 rifle for Ski troops and a pair of ca 1675 short Dutch rifeled Flintlock Carbines:

The "Studser" has an very heavy barrel and it is my opinion that if it was any longer it will make the weapon's weight unpractical for use.
