Liebes Forum,
ich habe dieses Stück in den USA gekauft, der Käufer hatte folgende Beschreibung.
Habt ihr eine Idee?
I have been able to identify the grip monogram as being for Leopold IV, Duke of Anhalt-Dessau 1817-1871. I do not believe it is for any King Ludwig of Bavaria (as has been suggested) due to the fact these monograms or cyphers for these monarchs are distinctly different. Having said that, I do believe there is a connection and that is due to the German Confederation. There were two Kings of Bavaria named Ludwig during this confederation: Ludwig I, reigned 1825-1848, and Ludwig II, reigned 1864-1886 (only two years of that reign, 1864-1866, were in the German Confederation); Maximilian II reigned 1848-1864 in the interim period.
There were two Dukes of Anhalt during this confederation: Leopold III, reigned 1751-1817 (only two years of that reign, 1815-1817, were in the German Confederation) and Leopold IV, and reigned as: Duke of Anhalt-Dessau 1817-1853, also concurrently Duke of Anhalt-Kothen, 1847-1853, also Duke of combined Duchy of Anhalt-Dessau-Kothen, 1853-1863, also 1stRuler of the United Duchy of Anhalt, 1863-1871.

Das ist natürlich sehr schade, dass es ein Fehlkauf war aber dank Euch weiss ich jetzt zumindest was es ist.
Hier eine weitere Antwort, welche ich von Herrn F. erhalten habe:
Bayerischer Infanterie-Offizier-Säbel - wohl aus der Regierungszeit König Ludwig I.
Eckiges Bügelgefäß mit Löwenkopf in Messinglegierung, schwarzer Holzgriff mit leerem Metallemblem (evtl. später), Klinge verziert mit Zierornamenten und ''L'' unter Krone Länge ca. 96 cm. Anbei Scheide mit Messingbeschlägen.
