Here are 2 Loewenkopf Swords

-Artillery : Manufacturer : E&F. Horster

Can somebody tell me what period were thoses swords produced: Imperial era ? or Weimar era ?

What are the differences between the pre-WW1 imperial swords and the Reichswehr swords ?

thanks a lot for your assistance

Good morning, puma.

Are the stirrups and lion's heads of both swords made of brass? Are the sword knot original in the swords? Personally I think it's Weimar era.
The blades seems to me not decorated. The grips are also not very luxurious. The internal parrying cloth is without coat of arms. The hollow throat (Fuller) in one blade goes around from the Ricasso. The hilt materials are moulder. The sword knots are likewise after 1918, but I do not know whether one them can approach for an identification.

Hello

Thanks for your post Thomas

Lion's heads and stirrups of both swords are brass made.
I cannot say if the knots were originally fitted on the swords. There were with them when I got them, which does not mean that much.
Blades are not decorated
The Horster's lionshead has red eyes

Some more pics of the hilts:( Clemens on the left & Horster on the right

Thanks
Patrick

Thomas
