Espada para caballeria modelo 1728

was developed from cup hilt rapiers and had the typical rapier
construction with half-bowl guard and big finger loops.

The blade is double edged and has shape of flattened diamond.

Blade length. 91 cm
width: 36 mm
maker: Toledo factory, dated 1771

Officer's version of p/1728 sword with German blade.
Solingen blades are very common on Spanish swords from
18th century, usually on officer's variants, because they
were way more expensive compared to the local manufacturers.
