beide Degen sind IOD neues Modell. Der obere Degen auf dem zweiten Foto ist eine vom Militär ausgegebene Waffe (Griff mit zwei Wicklungen), der untere Degen wurde vom Träger selbst gekauft (privates Eigentum). Das Portepee am oberen Degen sieht neu aus.

both swords are new models (IOD n/M). The top sword on the second pic is military property (Hilt with two wire windings), the lower sword by the owner one bought (Property of the buyer). The Portepee of the upper sword is not old.

military property IOD have pure brass hilt, buyers property hilt are brass gilds. Exceptions are war models. These are iron (black or gildet). The scabbard from the upper sword must be proofed also (like the sword). I think (not I know), the portepee is after the year 1918.

Scabbard with two rings and nickel plated is older as black scabbard with one ring. But a particular "blood groove" I know only from association swords.

ein altes IOD-Modell sieht immer so aus KLICK MICH. Horn, Fischhaut, Plastik und Holz wurden nebeneinander verwendet, nicht nacheinander. Leder, zumindestens bei militärischen IOD, gar nicht. Aber es gibt eingrenzende Zeiten, in denen das eine Material mehr, und das andere Material weniger verwendet wurde.

Beide Degen sollte man nicht miteinander vergleichen. Der Obere ist Militär, der untere höchstwahrscheinlich Zivil. Im Bereich zivile Degen gibt es viele verschiedene Varianten. Auch bei den privat beschafften Degen.

sorry for my English. An old prussian IOD model looks always in such a way KLICK ME. Horn, fish skin, plastics and wood was next to each other used, not successively. Leather did not find use with military IOD. How it is with civilian swords, I do not know. But there are limiting times, in which one material more, and which was used less other material.

We cannot compare both blade. The upper is a military sword, the lower sword in all probability is a civilian item. Within the civilian range there are a great many variants. Also with the swords, those gave bought the officers.
